about

Composed for the Joshua Trio, I wanted to capture a sense of growing emptiness and unrealized resolution. This is a collection of pointillistic micro-spasms that are introduced by the piano and then continued by the other players. I suppose that on some level I was imagining the constant expansion of the universe triggering white-hot bursts of energy, then forming into some sort of gaseous cloud, then erupting again until it burns out.
